1. How did your adventure with Qodeca begin?

My wife spotted the Qodeca job opening for a .NET Developer and sent it my way. I applied and was invited for an interview — first with Marcin, then a technical interview with Artur Krajewski, Bartłomiej Suliga, and Jarosław Szkutnicki. There was a surprise during the technical task when my internet cut out, but despite that, I got the job offer. I joined the team on June 3, 2019, starting with the BayClub project.

2. What did your career progression look like, and what helped you grow?

I started working at Qodeca on the BayClub project. I worked there as a Senior .NET / Angular developer and was responsible for creating and maintaining functionalities in the GroupClass, CourtBooking, and Personal Training modules.

Then, due to the outbreak of the pandemic, I was transferred from the BayClub project to other Qodeca projects. These included Segreto, OFS (Optimal Financial System), and the EoS Support Portal. After these projects, I joined the EoS team working on a new process called JoinNow (membership purchases). Initially, I worked as a Senior FullStack .NET / Angular developer. During the project, I was promoted to Tech Lead of the EoS project.

On July 1, 2024, I was promoted to Head of Engineering. That’s how my career progression at Qodeca looks.

What helped me grow? Definitely the trust from Marcin and Kasia, as well as from other team members. Interesting projects, both technologically and business-wise. Experienced colleagues who are eager to share their knowledge. Support from Qodeca through various training programs (Leadership Academy, English language courses). I also believe that openness to new ideas from Marcin, Kasia, and other colleagues has played a significant role.

3. What challenges did you face, and how did you overcome them?

One clear challenge for me was having conversations in English with clients. Before joining Qodeca, I hadn’t had any experience working directly with English-speaking clients, and I was a bit worried about how I’d handle it. I’ve realized that most of the fear is just in your head - you have to push yourself and practice speaking as much as possible. It definitely helped that my colleagues didn’t mind repeating things when needed.

Qodeca also offered English language training, which was really useful.

Another challenge was getting familiar with the Microsoft Azure environment since I hadn’t worked with it in my previous roles. Luckily, my teammates were a big help in learning this technology.

4. What support did you receive from the company and the team?

A great support from Qodeca were the trainings I mentioned earlier—whether it was the Leadership Academy [pol. Akademia Lidera] or the English language course.

5. What advice would you give to people who want to grow at Qodeca?

Make the most of the knowledge around you at Qodeca. No matter your level of experience, there’s always something new to learn. Don’t be afraid to share your ideas—not just for improving the application but also for your own growth.
